These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Waste Clearance Catford provides waste collection and clearance services to domestic and commercial customers. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing any booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the following meanings:

Customer means the individual, business or organisation requesting and paying for the services.

Services means waste clearance, rubbish removal, collection, loading, transportation and related services provided by Waste Clearance Catford.

Waste means any items, materials, refuse or goods that the Customer asks us to remove, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

Contract means the legally binding agreement between Waste Clearance Catford and the Customer for the provision of services, formed in accordance with these Terms.

2. Scope of Services

Waste Clearance Catford provides waste collection and clearance services throughout its operating area, including residential and commercial locations. Services generally include the loading of waste, removal from the premises, transportation, and delivery to an authorised disposal, recycling or recovery facility, in accordance with applicable waste regulations.

We reserve the right to refuse to remove any item or waste type that is prohibited by law, unsafe for handling or transport, or outside the scope of our waste carrier licence or insurance cover. Certain items may require specialist handling, additional charges or separate arrangements.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings can be made by telephone or other communication methods as indicated by us from time to time. When making a booking, the Customer will be required to provide accurate information about the type, volume and location of the waste, access arrangements, property type and any relevant restrictions.

3.2 Any quotation issued by Waste Clearance Catford is based on the information supplied by the Customer at the time of enquiry. If on arrival it becomes apparent that the waste differs significantly in type or volume from that described, or access is materially more difficult, we may revise the price or, if agreement cannot be reached, decline to carry out the service.

3.3 A booking is not confirmed until we have accepted it and provided confirmation, which may be verbal or written. At that point, a Contract is formed between the Customer and Waste Clearance Catford on these Terms and Conditions.

3.4 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that an authorised person is present at the property at the scheduled time to grant access, confirm the waste to be cleared and, where applicable, make payment.

4. Service Visits and Access

4.1 We will use reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed date and time, but any times given are estimates. We do not guarantee arrival or completion times and shall not be liable for any loss arising from delays caused by traffic, weather, access problems or other events beyond our reasonable control.

4.2 The Customer must ensure that we have safe and adequate access to the waste, including any necessary parking permissions. If parking charges apply, the Customer is responsible for these costs, which may be added to the final invoice.

4.3 If we are unable to gain access to the premises or waste due to circumstances within the Customer’s control, we may, at our discretion, charge a call-out or wasted journey fee to cover our costs.

5. Waste Types and Restrictions

5.1 Waste Clearance Catford operates as a licensed waste carrier and must comply with all applicable UK waste regulations. Certain types of waste cannot be collected or require special arrangements, including but not limited to: hazardous waste, chemicals, asbestos, clinical and medical waste, pressurised containers, gas bottles, explosives and radioactive materials.

5.2 Electrical and electronic items, fridges, freezers, tyres, mattresses, paint, oils and other regulated materials may be subject to additional disposal charges due to increased processing or compliance costs.

5.3 The Customer confirms that all waste provided for collection is owned by the Customer or that the Customer has full authority from the legal owner to dispose of it. The Customer agrees to indemnify Waste Clearance Catford against any claims by third parties alleging unauthorised removal or disposal of items.

6. Pricing and Quotations

6.1 Prices are generally based on the volume, weight, type of waste, labour required, access conditions and disposal or recycling charges in force at the time of service.

6.2 Any quotation provided before inspection of the waste is an estimate only. The final price will be confirmed on site once our team has assessed the waste and access. If the Customer does not agree to any revised price, we reserve the right not to proceed with the service and may, at our discretion, charge a call-out fee.

6.3 All prices are stated in pounds sterling and are exclusive of VAT unless expressly stated otherwise. If VAT is chargeable, it will be added at the applicable rate.

7. Payment Terms

7.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due in full on completion of the service visit, prior to our team leaving the site. We accept common payment methods such as cash, bank transfer or card payment, subject to availability.

7.2 Commercial customers may be offered account terms subject to status and at our sole discretion. Where account terms apply, payment is due within the period specified on the invoice. Late payment may result in additional charges and suspension of further services.

7.3 If the Customer fails to make payment when due, Waste Clearance Catford may charge interest on the overdue amount at the statutory rate and recover any reasonable costs of debt recovery, including legal fees.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

8.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by contacting us as soon as possible. We request at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled appointment time.

8.2 Where the Customer cancels with less than 24 hours notice, or fails to provide access on arrival, we reserve the right to charge a cancellation or wasted journey fee to cover our costs, including travel and labour.

8.3 Waste Clearance Catford may cancel or reschedule a booking if necessary due to operational issues, staff illness, vehicle breakdown, unsafe conditions, extreme weather or other events beyond our reasonable control. We will endeavour to provide as much notice as reasonably possible and to arrange an alternative appointment. We shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.

9. Customer Obligations

9.1 The Customer must ensure that access routes and the area around the waste are safe, free from hazards and reasonably clear so that our team can work efficiently and without undue risk.

9.2 The Customer must inform us in advance of any special access issues, such as restricted parking, narrow staircases, security controls or height limits. Where such constraints significantly increase the time or difficulty of the job, additional labour charges may apply.

9.3 The Customer is responsible for removing any personal belongings or items they do not wish to dispose of before we begin work. Our team may, at their discretion, ask for confirmation before removing items, but we cannot accept liability for items mistakenly left within waste piles or mixed materials.

10. Liability and Insurance

10.1 Waste Clearance Catford will exercise reasonable care and skill in the performance of the services. We carry appropriate public liability insurance for our operations.

10.2 Our total liability to the Customer for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the total price paid or payable for the relevant service visit, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.

10.3 We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or economic loss, including loss of profits, revenue, business or anticipated savings, arising from or in connection with our services.

10.4 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

10.5 The Customer must notify us of any alleged damage to property or other complaint as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 48 hours of the service visit. We may request evidence and an opportunity to inspect the alleged damage before any decision is made.

11. Waste Handling and Environmental Responsibility

11.1 Waste Clearance Catford is committed to responsible waste management. All waste collected is transported to authorised disposal, recycling or recovery facilities in accordance with UK waste regulations.

11.2 Ownership of the waste transfers to Waste Clearance Catford once it is loaded into our vehicle. However, we reserve the right to refuse any waste that is hazardous, prohibited or materially different from that described during booking.

11.3 The Customer agrees not to place prohibited or hazardous items within waste designated for collection without declaring them in advance. If such items are discovered, we may charge additional fees for safe handling or decline to remove them. The Customer will be responsible for any costs, fines or penalties incurred by us as a result of undisclosed hazardous or prohibited waste.

12. Data Protection and Privacy

12.1 Waste Clearance Catford will collect and process certain personal data from Customers for the purposes of booking, delivering and administering services, processing payments and handling enquiries or complaints.

12.2 We will take reasonable steps to protect personal data, keep it secure and use it only for legitimate business purposes and as required by law. By providing your details, you consent to our use of your information in connection with the provision of our services.

13. Complaints

13.1 If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, you should contact us as soon as possible, providing full details of your complaint and any relevant evidence.

13.2 We will investigate the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable timescale. Where appropriate, we may offer to remedy any issue, which may include a partial refund, re-attendance or other solution, at our discretion and in line with these Terms and applicable law.

14. Variation of Terms

14.1 Waste Clearance Catford reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will take effect for new bookings made after the updated Terms have been issued or made available. The Terms in force at the time of booking will apply to that particular Contract.

14.2 No employee, agent or contractor of Waste Clearance Catford has authority to vary these Terms verbally. Any agreed variation must be confirmed by us in writing.

15. Severability

15.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, such provision will be deemed deleted, but the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

16.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

16.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the provision of our services.

By making a booking with Waste Clearance Catford or using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
